Kinesthetic Learner

  • You learn by touching and doing, so you may need to incorporate physical movement such as "speaking with your hands."

  • Participate in activities that incorporate physical movement like touching, drawing, building and acting things out.

  • You may be more comfortable chewing gum, walking around or rocking in a chair while studying.

  • If you use flashcards, arrange them into groups to show relationships and ideas.

  • If you have trouble remembering how to spell something, try tracing it with your finger.

  • You may also find it sometimes difficult to stay still while learning or studying, so it may be natural to tap a pencil (or your foot), twitching your leg, or hold on to something.

  • Use a touch screen computer to reinforce learning through your sense of touch. Using your smartphone or tablet will help with this.
